The upcoming winter in Spain is expected to warm.

According to forecasts from the state meteorological service of Spain (Aemet), winter 2017/2018 it is expected the warmest since 1981. The average temperature in January, February and March will be 1-3 degrees warmer than usual. A small amount of rain can remedy the consequences of the previous summer drought. Most likely this is due to the powerful high that left without water for the Eastern part of the Mediterranean coast of the country. On Christmas and new year, weather forecasters predict warm and Sunny weather. In early January, the weather front from the Atlantic will bring rain, which will be held mainly in the North, North-West of the country. The temperature will drop and will increase the wind gusts. According to the National astronomical Observatory, winter 2018 will last 88 days 23 hours. Officially winter begins on 21 December 2017 and will last until 20 March 2018.
